Neato. Could Growl also have a Dashboard widget?

Sweet. I've been using the 0.6 svn builds for awhile now; I'm curious to see what more has changed (or mostly just documentation & a cleaner install?)
I really like being able to specify different notification styles for different apps.

The apps I use don't support Growl yet, but I've been watching this one. It's a wonderful idea, akin to the old Notification Services on OS9.
That said, I don't see why it would need -or even really be able to use- a Dashboard widget. Growl and Dashboard serve entirely different purposes.

Mithras - If you've been building out of SVN then there's probably not much different - as you said, mostly documentation / small bug fixes etc...
Anyone whose been using the 0.5 release will find new stuff, like the Smoke and Music Video displays.
You can specify different notifications for different apps:
Or did you mean differing displays for different notifications within one app?

Well, I was thinking that if Growl gets popular the desktop may get inundated with app messages. I would not mind a lot of messages if they were all contained in a single widget that I could look at every so often. And perhaps then I could set Growl to place only urgent messages on the desktop.

Ya, we're aware of this possible issue. Note priority, and the ability to set displays. We'll have more control later down the road, etc, so that you will be able to stop a notification storm before it starts.

Building out of svn every other day or so makes these releases pretty unexciting personally, but Growl's an awesome utility nonetheless.

haha, ya, it does make things not as exciting/surprising, I agree. But if you need the stuff up there now it's usually worth it.
