this
it's out...works...sorta?
i can stream vlc over it (but don't see where to "move" video placement in vlc to sync to audio).
i can't seem to get mplayer (their recommened app) to work...no audio.
tried reason (music-making app); of course there's latency, but great to play back work!
does not seem to work with preview (ie playing an audiofile from a column window)
quicktime works (not useful for video of course)
great app! but have to figure out how to get mplayer & preview to work.
anyone else check it out yet??

ah...
figured mplayer out...not simple.
u gotta control-click mplayer, find "mplayer" in the resources folder.
i put an alias of it in my apps.
THAT'S the app u need to select in airfoil (surprised this isnt explained in airfoil help)...yet.
now, if i can just get the delay settings right...

a little schizo today?
am answering my own posts lol
to use the preview function in column view...select "finder" in airfoil
you can select the mplayer window app from the open apps list in airfoil (versus my more complicated idea)
thanks rogueamoeba tech support!
running other apps to the airport express rocks!!!

Perhaps a better thread title. I was about to post one about Airfoil but I did quick search and found yours.
I can't wait to try it out. I hope they make it so you can eventually just set your entire system's sound to go through there instead of just a single app (if that's possible.)

product was called slipstream for months...then airfoil as of today (thus the thread title)
have used it a lot today; great with the Finder (previewing audiofiles in column view);
getting the offset right for video with mplayer is kicking my ass...

I heard about slipstream from MacWorld in January I think. I added a bookmark for their site and have been checking it every so often. I just checked again yesterday and downloaded it.
Works pretty good if you ask me. I'm using it right now to stream XM satellite radio's online stream to my stereo in the living room.
I also tried the video thing and as expected, there was a delay. I guess I didn't know they were going to do something to try and sync it. That's cool.
