Is there an application I can use to play a Flash Video file (.flv)? I created one with Sorenson Squeeze but it does not include a player. I have the flash player plugin installed but I don't know how to use it to play a file off my desktop.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try dropping it on your web browser of choice. It may or may not play in the whole browser window, so resize if necessary.

Unfortunately doesn't work. Tried with Firefox, Safari and IE.

AFAIK, you still would have to have a SWF file to load the FLV file. If you knew someone who had Flash make you a movie player that took the location of the FLV file as an argument in a text file, you'd then have a little SWF-based FLV movie player.

Don't know anybody with Flash and I don't think I can do that. Sounds really complicated. There's no simple way to play flv files, huh?

Huh. Seems like VLC will do it. (Depending on the codecs used, I suppose, at least it plays this sumo.flv file.)
