It is an app that lets each computer work together seamlessly. So instead of ditching a computer you can just work on all of them with one mouse

I know of The apps that let you use a window to control other computers but they are very slow.

This program lets you control multiple Macs with one mouse and keyboard. It's a developer preview and it's donationware at the moment. Sounds exactly what you're looking for.

The developer hasn't updated it in a while, but its got 4.5 stars on VersionTracker, so it seems pretty usable in its current form.

Any cross platform ones out there that will share a monitor also, AND work with Windows 98SE?

I don't see any such programs that let you share a monitor at all, much less ones that work with 7-year-old operating systems.
