Hey
I currently use iPhoto 3 to organize my pictures.. but it is extremely slow and it is bothering me as of late.
Are their any 3rd party software packages that will allow me to organize photos? Do not need anything to fancey.. just basics.
Thanks

There is no iPhoto 3. iPhoto 4 is much faster than 2, but iPhoto 5 is the fastest. Perfectly fast for me on my 3 year old PowerBook. Have you tried those out? What kind of features do you want, or do you JUST want a gallery view of your photos? What kind of machine are you using?

iPhoto 5 is so much better than the other builds. Fast, nested folders and more options.

My suggestion would also be iPhoto 5 (in iLife '05). Performance is way, way better.
First, you're already used to the iPhoto interface. iPhoto 5 is very much the same.
Second, you've already got at least some photos organized the way you want them; iPhoto 5 will keep this organization. Switching to a new program will force you to re-do all your previous work (not to mention digging through iPhoto's directories to find the original image files).
And third, iPhoto 5 has some really nice new features. And the photo books, should you choose to create one, are really nice. Great gifts for people.

3 Cheers for iPhoto 5 here as well. Very nice...and fast. The powerful searching capabilities are the bomb.
If you go this route, be sure to backup your library before doing anything.

iPhoto 4 verses 2 was like night and day I hear 5 is faster and has WAY more features. If you like some of the ideas from iPhoto I'd say buy iLife 05
