I got a Powerbook that I connect to a 17" LCD when I'm at home and was wondering if there was anyway to get the palettes in illustrator and photoshop to scale out to the 1280x1024 when I run in clamshell mode, and then scale back down to 1024x768 when I work from my PB's screen on the go. Here's a picture of what I get when I connect my PB to my external and open up a file in illustrator.
Anybody got a quick fix so I don't have to drag each palette over one by one till I get them the way I like?

As far as I know the only way to do this is by defining a workspace for each screen setup.
Arrange your palettes and then go to Window>Workspaces>Save workspace...
Do this for both screen sizes and then you can switch between then from that menu. This works in Photoshop but I don't know about the other Adobe apps.
Well it works for Photoshop and Indesign but not for Illustrator, or atleast I can't find that option anywhere. Thanks for the help anyway mikelauder, doing this tedious process for one app is alot better than doing it for all three.

Goddammit! I never knew that was there! I knew about it in PS and ID but not AI.
Why the hell is Illustrator so inconsistent with the other Adobe apps? It's like the Illustrator team are locked down in some remote part of Adobe HQ and forbidden from communicating with the Photoshop and InDesign teams, who are good friends and often go out drinking together where they openly mock the Illustrator team for their placement of 'Colour' settings in the Edit menu and their lame PDF export options.
