I have a PC application that has to run in 1280x1024 resolution. The max resolution my VPC allows me to run is 1024x768. How can I make this larger? I think I am running the additions, I have allocated 16MB of VRAM, yet when I run full screen mode the VPC sticks at 1024x768. I've tried changing the resolution on my Mac to be smaller (I run native resolution on my 30" ACD normally) but this didn't help.

What am I doing wrong? Is there any issue running on the 30" monitor even at lower resolutions?

I know on VPC for Windows, VPC only runs in 16bit, not 24 or 32. At 16bit, it can run the full res of your monitor. Haven't tested this on my mac though.

Yeah, I was running 32 bit and just switched to 16. No difference at all. I'm still stuck at 1024x768 and it won't run full screen any larger.

Have you installed the VPC additions?

Yes, I think so. Is there any indication that you have? I say select, Windows installs something. If I select install/update again it tries to uninstall.

OK, so I basically decided I needed to think like a Windows user: "What would a Windows person do to solve this problem?"

So I reinstalled the OS and it worked.

I look at VPC as my own little window into hell, right on my desktop.
