I use Pastor to store all my usernames and passwords and when upgrading my machine and opening up my password file, the application opened it with the top of the window stuck under the menu bar. I thought this was especially strange because my window resolution actually improved but anyway.....

Is there anyway to move a window without clicking on it or is there any other solution (current resolution is already maxed out)?

I tried deleteing the plist for Pastor but had no luck.

Thanks in advance.

Changing the resolution to any other resolution and then back should fix the problem.

If that doesn't fix it you could use a program like this: http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/16952 that lets you drag a window by any part of it (not just the titlebar).

Unfortunately neither of those solutions worked.

The Dragon thing does work but once I move and close the file, it still tries to open itself under the menubar. I am trying to email the developer, maybe this is something that he could fix.

Thanks for the tips and if anybody has anymore, keep them coming.

I had the same problem when I upgraded Pastor. The only solution I could find was to open a new window and input all my items again. Kind of a pain in the butt but it did work. I exported the data and then printed it out and then opened Pastor with a new window and input my data again.

Monkeybrain:
Thanks for the lead on WindowDragon: very handy.

Actually, what I was hoping that WD would do (extrapolating from your comment) was to *enable* me to slide a window UP, under the menu bar -- that's a feature in OS X that I really miss: handy when I'd like to be able to view something at the very *bottom* of an app's window while typing into another window.

Anyone know any other haxies that make it possible to break through the "glass ceiling" of the system's menu bar? Thanks.

Diggory: I don't know how Expose will make that possible? To TYPE in one window while viewing others? Also, the expose views of windows (as with F10) are way too tiny to be able to read a lot of their text.

I, too, would like to find a way to have virtual destop extend upward under the menu bar!

Here's the solution:

1. make a small change in any of the entries

2. choose "Quit" under the Pastor menu

3. a dialog box will open, asking if you want to save the change, and
the top bar of the application window will move down, allowing you to
position it lower on your screen

4. Save and Quit. When you restart Pastor, the Toolbar will be below
the Finder menubar
