Suddenly I feel the need for QuicKeys.. But I'm wondering...

Will this be a waste of $99 if Automator (in Tiger) will do essentially the same thing?

(I guess I can get the 30 day free download of QK and then see what Automator can do when it arrives (supposedly on 4/15))

But anyway.. thoughts? What about the long term survivability of QuicKeys?

It doesn't look like Automator allows you to set up hotkeys, so QuickKeys still has a use as far as that goes. You could even set it up to run Automator scripts.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

I recommend the better (and more modestly priced) Keyboard Maestro or iKey instead of the overpriced QuicKeys for full GUI scripting -- or even just the much-recommended, lovely, and free Quicksilver for hot key triggers.

I don't think Automator will kill any of these macro applications, FWIW; it's a slightly different beast, isn't it? But I should really wait until I get a chance to use it before making any grand pronouncements.

Aside from price, what is better about iKeys or Keyboard Maestro?
