Anybody seen this one? iPhoto, previously working fine, acts as if it never has been used. It refuses to recognize photos in the library, refuses to import photos from the camera. So I assume it's damaged, trash it, restart the G5, and when I try to install iPhoto from the CD, the installer program contends that one of the iLife suite (iTunes, iDVD, iPhoto, etc.) is running and it cannot install iPhoto. Of course, none of those programs is running.

Suggestions? Thanks,
Greg Feldmeth

The application that is running is iTunesHelper, an application that runs in the background waiting to go into action when an iPod is attached. You can go into your Accounts preference pane under Startup items, delete it from the startup items window and reboot. You should now be able to run the installer.

Did you try repairing disk permissions and relaunching iPhoto before you trashed it?
