every one and a while (OK, a lot less often than that), MS does something intelligent. Seems to me that OneNote is one of those efforts, and frankly, i'm envious. Is there any Mac equivalent? Or anyone know if there's any chance they'd port?

Have you used it? I have a 60 day Demo at home but I don't have Office 2003 to use it yet. Apps like this have to be demo'd to see if they work right for your needs.

Notetaking on the Mac is probably handled by Aquaminds Notetaker and Circus Ponies notetaking app. I think we might eventualy see One Note for Mac Office.

There are lots of Mac options out there - including those mentioned above.

I personally preferred OmniOutliner for note taking.

OneNote: haven't used it.

Omnioutliner Pro: I LOVE it. The new version (version 3) is fantastic. It's well worth the money.

MD Word 2004 for Mac has some OneNote functionality built into it, perhaps not as much as OneNote itself, but certainly more that Word for Windows.

It's called Word Notebook
