I am in need of a freeware app that can scan the subnet of where I work and report the IP and mac addresses in use. I have an app on pc that does this and I cannot fully give up my PC til I find an alternative on the mac.

nmap has been used for this in the Unix world for a long time, and several ports (including some with GUIs) exist for OSX. Would this do what you want?
