gmail crashing Mail?

I am having a problem with Mail. I get a warning window when I try to get messages in my gmail account. It causes Mail to not receive messages in any accounts. I have to quit and then restart to get any new mail messages. I haven't had any problems for three months until now. Any ideas?

Odd, it clicks for me. It basically says that the the identity of the server can't be verified.
