I have been working very hard on a movie in imovie to show this thursday to a public audience. The length was about 15 minutes out of 3 or so hours of video taped movies, and I had not quite finished editing yet but i was nearly done. I saved and i took a break. In the meantime my stupid brother came and fiddled around with the program and started a new movie and doesn't remember what he did to the one I had open. But now when i try to reopen the movie imovie, it gives me an error message saying "your project file is not readable". for some reason the movie is saved as one long .mov file. I never saved it like that. I can view the movie okay, and even move it into idvd, but I still havn't finished it and want to put it back in imovie. neither imovie nor idvd "help" helped. All I found out was it is too long (longer than 9.5 minutes) to move it back into imovie as one file. I don't have quicktime pro to cut the movie into smaller pieces. I only have the basic programs that came with my powerbook g4 and no program instruction manual. I have no idea what to do and i have to be done with the movie by tommorrow (wed 23) no deadline extensions!

Somebody PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

I cannot specifically help from an application standpoint. But two suggestions -- go to a bookstore and get imovie: the missing manual, by David Pogue. That's like an instruction manual (or at least look through it for help).

Also -- check the apple discussion boards and maybe someone there can help, too. It's on the apple site, under "support" and then "discussion," I believe it is.

And good luck. I know you're panicking right now, as I would be, too. See if those options will help you out and get you back on track.
