Hey all,
I'm a recent switcher to Camino and absolutely love it. The only thing that's keeping me from using it solely over Safari and FF is the text box problem that I've seen frequently mentioned here. On my pokey G3 powerbook, it's really bad. I'll type a few words, and it'll add about a character every second. Writing a paragraph takes a few minutes. Does anyone know if it'll be fixed anytime soon?

Probably not. It's been an outstanding bug for several years, and no one has taken the initiative to fix it. The real solution is to implement native text boxes in Gecko, but the feeling is that doing so is a major project.

From what I can tell, it also has a lot to do with animated stuff being visible while you're typing (as is the case on this forum most of the time). The redraw is really inefficient when stuff is going on in two different places at once (you can check this if you have Quartz Debug installed).
