Toast 6.0.9 won't erase DVD+RW

for some reason, i can't erase a DVD+RW using either toast 6.0.9 or 6.0.3. toast crashes as soon as i select the "erase..." option. never had any trouble doing it before which is the weird thing. anyway, i'm using the latest version of toast with OS X 10.3.8... the fact that i used to be able to do this suggests that 10.3.8 may be to blame. does anyone know of any solutions or workarounds?

found a workaround. i was able to erase the discs using disk utility.
