So I am backup up my Powerbook stuff onto my external firewire drive, and at the end of a backup a message pops up that says:

Some files were not backed up.
One or more files were skipped because they could not be read. See the Backup log for more information.

The log shows all files.

Anybody have a clue?

I have verified the drive and repaired it with Disk Utility, and that is only thing I can think of.

I will occasionally have Backup get hung with error messages about files that cannot be read. Sometimes if I reset permissions in my home folder then the problem resolves.

Yeah, go to the files listed in the Backup log and make sure you have read permission.
