Open that in Safari. Watch it choke. Couple second delay any time you scroll. Etc.

Open it in IE on Windows. It's smooth as can be.

Why?? Why can't Apple be better than this?

It doesn't choke for me (1 GHz G4 tower, 896 MB RAM, 10.3.7). But anyway, IE 6 may be a shitty browser, but the one thing it does have going for it is that it's pretty darn zippy.

Works for me. And I'm on a G4/450, which is much slower than what you guys have posted.

That site is nice and smooth for me in Safari 1.2.4. My machine's an iMac G4 (1.25 GHz).

If you want the fastest browser available on a Mac, though, try Camino (caminobrowser.org). I use a nightly build and upgrade to the newest every few months just to stay cutting-edge (but I check the forums first to make sure there are no major bugs in the nightly).

No problem here, either. As they say, smooth as silk (version 1.2.3).

Well, just to confirm, you're aware that Cocoa apps normally have a short delay from the time you click the scroller to the time that scrolling starts, right? Because that's the only delay I get.

I'm using exactly the same machine right now (Safari 1.2.4, OS X 10.3.8, 256MB RAM) and that webpage is as smooth as anything else. Works fine.

Hmm...could it be that PithHelmet or something else is making it really slow? But I tried disabling it and it's the same.

That could be. Instead of trying to disable it, try to remove it and maybe also Saft or other Safari "enhancers" you might have installed, then restart and try again. If the problem persists create a new account and try it loged into this fresh account.
