I'm thinking about moving my iTunes library (including purchased music) from my laptop to my desktop. What do I need to know about doing this? Any gotchas?
I presume you'll move them between the two Macs using a Network (Finder > Go > Connect to Server...) or via FireWire Target Disk Mode. That should be straightforward.
I'll also presume here that the desktop does not currently have an iTunes library, or that you intend to replace the iTunes library thereon. If you are replacing the desktop's library, be sure to backup any purchased music on such that is not on the laptop: see "Backing up your music files in iTunes 4"
