It's best that you create a new virtual pc setup. Look in the Virtual PC List window, there should be a New button on the right hand side. It will go step-by-step through the creation of a new virtual pc. After you're done creating a new setup for Windows XP, just stick in the Windows XP cd into your drive and select the Xp setup and press the Start up button. It should boot from the cd and start the XP installation.

This way you'll both have your old Windows 2000 setup and your new Windows XP setup. If you no longer need your Windows 2000 setup, just select it from the Virtual PC list and press the Delete button.

If you're going to upgrade Windows 2000 instead, then double click on My Computer. You should see your Windows XP install cd as drive D: or E:. Right click on it and select Autorun. This should launch the setup program. If nothing happens, then open the CD window and look for a setup.exe.

Yeah I've run the setup, and it says it was completed successfully, but then nothing happens. Its still Windows 2000, and nothing is differant. And when I create a new virtual pc, it will just say "OS not found. Install an OS on this hard drive"

That's strange. With your new virtual pc, insert the Windows XP install cd first and then start it. It should boot from the cd and start installing.

Is that a bootable WIndows XP install CD? If not, then you'll need to get a bootable Win XP floppy and have Virtual PC capture its image.
