Some docs print as if the printer is running out of ink. That is, about halfway down the page the print fades to nothing, but fades gradually.
Other apps print fine, so it seems to be an AppleWorks thing.
Copying the text to a new doc has the same results.
The printer is an HP OfficeJet. Could this be a print driver problem, or a problem with AppleWorks? This is happening on a new eMac 1.25.
Any suggestions for diagnosing the problem and correcting it?

Turns out it was a bad black cartridge. The brand x carts sometimes fail.
