iPhoto 4.0.3 importing duplicates problem

I'm running iPhoto 4.0.3 on OS 10.2.8. There seems to be a new problem recently. When a duplicate image is encountered on import it used to ask what to do about it, import it or not. Now it doesnt ask at all, and imports all duplicates.


UPDATE: It now seems to have probs importing. It says: There were propblems importing 24 images." Then gives a list of the images it didnt import. When I do another import, it will import some of the same files it just said it could not import.


Any help?
