Title says it all,

Moto v500 won't show with add device under isync. I had a T610 that worked sweet over BT with isync, unfortunatley that broke.

I saw a bargain for a new V500 at half price on UK Orange PAYG, bought it as it has BT not realising you need the USB lead for isync, as BT only works for GPRS and not Address Book iCal syncing.

The lead cost half the price of the phone, and does not work, I change the lead at the store and the new one does not work.

This is with a brand new PB 1.33 , 10.3.8 isync 1.5 my machine is mint, clean and has never had any problems.

Any help from users who have achieved a sync would be much appreciated

forgot, both the leads I had allowed the phone to 'sync' on my XP pc first time, but it was painfull and I only really use the PB now so it is no solution in my opinion.

Checked the help for isync, states you need an original moto lead, is this correct, it is only a usb lead after all? The leads I bought came from an official orange shop.

Also I see nothing under my network config ports, showing the phone, another troubleshoot method from isync help.

Please HELP me! Ta

I got a Motorola C350 to work with a standard USB A to mini-b cable after a bit of fiddling. It turned out the ID number in one of iSync's resource files was wrong.

Plug in the phone and check it shows up in System Profiler, then note the vendor & product ID numbers.

Open /System/Library/SyncServices/MotorolaConduit.bundle/Contents/Resources/USBDevice.plist and find your phone, then correct the IDs as necessary.

I found this tip on some message board by googling so it's worth repeating here. Hope it works for you!

Barney.

Take the phone back ! My girlfriend has a V500 and it's quirky to say the least. Orange let you return a phone in a certain time if your not happy with it.

I have a Nokia 6600 and it's great - and it works brilliantly with iSync. Just waiting for the 6680 to come out and I'll be upgrading it.
