Folks,

I installed Firefox for one purpose: I wanted to use the Rich text editing in GMAIL. Apparently this one feature doesn't work with Safari.

I use Firefox on Windows and MUCH prefer Safari. Be that as it may, I'd like to use Firefox for GMAIL.

One problem: It's horrific looking on OSX.

Does anyone know any themes to help out in this area?

I've downloaded a few themes, but they don't seem to work on OSX.
- iMac 3.2Ghz 1TB - MacBook Pro 15" Core i7 2.3Ghz / 256SSD (Work laptop)
- PowerMac G5 - Dual 2.0 Ghz, 3GB, Soundsticks!,
- Lenovo Thinkpad T510 (also a work laptop), Win 7 Enterprise, 8GB, 320GB HDD

I am not really sure how much more OS X like you can get. We worked really hard to make it is as Mac like as we possibly could within the constraints of how Firefox theming works...

No offense intended. (Seriously ...)

The default theme just looks very bland with no colors at all.
Do you have any theme recommendations?

(Quite honestly I can't seem to get ANY of the themes that I tried to make any visible difference)

No offense really

Any chance you could post a screen shot? It should just look like Aqua pinstripes with some colorful toolbar icons... Sounds like maybe something else is going on.

Anyway, a lot of the themes for Firefox don't work for the Mac version. You have to find Mac compatible versions of the themes. You could try here: https://addons.mozilla.org/themes/sh...p;category=All

First of all, how much "color" do any of the other browsers have? I'd say Firefox has more, with it's green, blue, and red default icons.

Second, if you'd bother to search, you'd have found this page which has many nice themes.

Third, I've compiled a list of various helpful links to extensions and tips and whatnot for Firefox.

If you'd bothered to read my message you would have seen that I tried various themes, but none change the default look/feel. (I already foumd that page) Perhaps something is wrong with my installation?

Thank you for the second link. I'll take a look at it.

Is there anything that makes Firefox look like Safari? (And perhaps use the Safari bookmarks so I can take advantage of .mac sync?)

I'll post a screen shot a bit later. I've got to upload it to the web. It does not look like your description. My scroll bars are black abysses ....

(Thanks for not being offended.) "Horrific" was a bit strong of a word, especially since I think something else is wrong with this program.

What do you mean the "default look/feel?" That's exactly what themes change. And it doesn't seem like you looked at that site, because it has a Safari-like theme for Firefox.

But ... again as I mentioned ... the Safari theme on that site (and all other themes on that site) didn't change anything about the way the Firefox looked on my machine. (Gotta keep up here, ok)

That doesn't sound normal

Please do post that screenshot and maybe I can help you figure out what is going on.

Uh, then something's obviously wrong with your setup.
