I was wondering what you folks thought of apple branded screenwriting software.I personally used word and now pages since i cannot afford the $480 for final draft.Wasnt there an app with the code name Author that they were working on.Do you think that this would be a suitable avenue for them consider since macs are used widesapread in the filmbbiz.

There's a good Pages template floating around for screenwriting. Very nice.

There's been a few threads on various programs and what people use. Did you check those?

The one from iWork looks a little more polished. Maybe it's the same one just tweaked.

Already sent Jobs an Email telling him to make one that ships with the app. Still, Final Draft is better.

Well, think of it this way. If you're serious about making a living from writing isn't $480 a small investment? Yes, I Emailed him but he gets so many Emails so anything can happen. I basically said that many writers use Macs so why not include a professional template if the Mac is supposed to be geared towards media content production.

It would be an equally cool name for, say, a word processor.

I find it very doubtful Apple would explicitly get into the screenwriting market. It's just not that big a niche.

You mean as opposed to pages and the pen dipped in the inkwell? A script writing app is too limited. You won't see anything like that from Apple with Pages.

I don't have Pages yet, but I'd like to see a good playwriting template. I found one in MS Word, but I'd rather not use word unless I have to. couldn't find one for appleworks.
