Hi
Does anyone know a good programme that can read a text aloud?
BTW I am running Mac, OSX 10.3.8

Select the text, then <the program menu>->Services->Speech->Start speaking text
|

Thanks TETENAL that looks like someting, but when I try this my "Start speaking text"-option is only written in grey, not in black, so I can't choose this.
Where can I "open this setting up"?

You need to select the text first and the application must support Services. Most applications do support Services (TextEdit, Safari, Pages, OmniWeb, Camino) but some older Carbon applications don't. If the application you are using doesn't you need to paste into TextEdit first.

Wait for OS X 10.4, It includes a screen reading program.
