I'm an idiot. I'm trying to rename my .Mac mailbox and it creates a new "folder" in the Mail drawer. I then procede to delete it and find that all of my messages on apple's servers have now been erased and I can't find the deleted messages anywhere... Anybody know if there's a way to fix my problem? Thanks.

So, in other words, you accidentally deleted the folder containing all of your .Mac mail, and you proceeded to deleted the folder after it was put in the trash, too? If that's the case, you're probably SOL. You may be able to contact .Mac support to see if they have a backup that they can restore for you, but the chances of that working out are poor.

I only deleted it once from the drawer. There's nothing in my system trash.

Oh, well, if IMAP folders do not go into Mail's trash (I do not mean the system trash can) then I guess it has been awhile since I have deleted one. This post is not that helpful to you, I realize. You could try to log into the .Mac webmail interface. There's a chance that it's still there.

It wouldn't go in the system trash, it would go in Mail's Trash. You might want to check there.

However, if you've irrevocably deleted the mailbox, there may not really be much you can do...

This won't help your current situation but in the future, you could use Backup and create a backup of your mail and mail settings to your iDisk. I don't use Backup much since I have other backup systems in place but once a month or so, I do backup my preference files, my iTunes playlist, my mail and mail settings and my Safari settings to the iDisk.

You could also simply sync your desktop Mail.app with .Mac (if you have .Mac) and that way you needn't even use Backup.

It's not in the .Mac web interface, and it's not in Mail's trash. In mails trash are emails I actually meant to delete. I guess I've lost all my email. Damn. Here I was thinking I wouldn't have to back it up since it was web based.
