Hello,
I just purchased a new powerbook earlier this week. I cloned my applications over from the old machine to the new one. When I launched ARD, it asked for a serial number. I put in the serial number and the application launched. I closed it down and relaunched it, low and behold it asked for a serial number again. I checked in the preferences, and found no ARD Application preferences. Is there a work around to this?
Thanks, Anthony

I imagine the license key would go in /Library/Preferences, not in ~/Library/Preferences (your home folder). Not 100% sure though.
But ARD is a machine-specific application and would need preferences stored at the MACHINE level, rather than at the "per user" level.

What version of osx is on the new pb and what version of ard is it? I've seen/read about a lot of problems using older version of ard with 10.3.8. Make sure you've updated to the latest version.

Did you mess up the permissions in the cloning process so that maybe the licence could not be written to the drive? Repair permissions should fix this.
