Hi all,
When I try to connect to my work network via Citrix 3.0 in Safari, it works fine but for one thing. In IE and Firefox, when clicking on an app in the office Citrix webpage, a file named "launch.asp" is downloaded and then automatically launched by the Citrix ICA client.
In Safari, however, "launch.asp" is downloaded to the desktop but not automatically launched. I have to go to the download window or the desktop and double-click it -- then all is well. Does anyone know of a way to make "launch.asp" auto-launch once downloaded by Safari? I know Safari has this capability for "safe files."
From another angle, though, what are the security concerns with a browser's auto-launching ".asp" files? Couldn't someone set up rogue links on websites that would download ".asp" files with malicious instructions (at least for Win machines)?
thanks! Mike

Safari for me used to download launch.ico, so I created a folder action script attached to the desktop to automatically launch the file and then delete it. It worked like a charm, until recently. I don't remember if I did anything to make the download be a .ico instead of .asp
More recently, however, safari doesn't give me the option of local client, it tries to launch the Java client. I think this is something on my employer's server side, since their last security upgrade. Firefox still works fine, and I'm not in any position to pursue the issue. If anyone knows what would cause that and anything to be done on the user end, please share.
What do you mean by Citrix 3.0, though? The client is up to version 7.0, and I'm pretty sure nothing older than 6 ran on OS X. The Citrix webpage (as least as my office has it set up) doesn't say anything about its version.

Thanks, mishakim. I will look into a folder action on this. I hadn't even thought of something on the outside of Safari!

This is my mistake. The client I'm using is 6.30.326. I think the server-side software is 3.0 -- at least that what I've gathered from my firm's much ballyhooed transition over from the old system.

Can't you just download the OSX ICA client and run it. It flys on my PB G4. I run my windows session at 800x600 and it runs as fast as my home pc.

I am running the client, actually. The way my firm has it set up, though, one has to log in through the web interface, which then reaches out to the ICA client.
