I'm in the process of making the switch to FontLab from the archaic Fontographer, but I've run into a bugger of an issue and my membership hasn't gone through at FontLab's message board.

That said, I'm having MAJOR issues generating a useable font file. Everything is in place, all the glyphs are where they should be, but upon generation, all the encoding gets screwed so a proper double quote is an olash, yaddah yaddah yaddah.

I've done everything suggested in the user guide, I've tried every encoding combination I know -- but it's just not working.

I've even opened up an Apple font and turned right around and re-generated it -- and the encoding gets screwed, too.

Does ANYONE here have experience with this software?!?!?! I'm dyin' here!!!

Fontlab seems buggy when it comes to formatting a Mac font properly. Making Postscript fonts seems a lot more difficult than making Truetype fonts.

For starters, try following these instructions to the letter:
http://groups.msn.com/fontlab/tipsan...D_Message=2638

If that doesn't work, the folks at http://www.typophile.com/forums should have some tips for you. I believe one of the Fontlab programmers is a regular poster.

I'm not making PostScript fonts -- just good ol' TT.

Thanks for the forum link, I'm on my way to see if they can help!
