Here's a post I've made to other forums without getting any response. Does anyone have the answer or is this way too complicated?
"Am unable to share iPhoto libraries between two computers on an AirPort home network. Sharing has been turned on in both and each computer shows up in the "Source side bar" of the other machine. On an iBook, clicking on the other computer in the side bar does absolutely nothing - no photos show up and the highlighted choice there changes from the other computer to the Library - no new photos there either. On the G-4 desktop, clicking on the iBook in the "Source side bar" starts to load the pictures from it, but then quits and the iBook disappears as a choice in the sidebar. Then iBook displays the message than an error has occurred while sharing. The only way to bring back the iBook to the sidebar is to restart the G-4, just quitting iPhoto won't do it. Would just like to get this thing to work as Apple says it should and a call to Tech Support was unable to solve the issue - although I wasn't really persistent in demanding a solution because I know there are workarounds such as the Public folder and iPhotoWebShare. Here's the setups on both computers:
iBook G-3 800 using iPhoto 4.0 on OSX 10.2.8 connects via AirPort card
G-4 Gigabit Ethernet using iPhoto 5.0.1 on OSX 10.3.8 connects directly via Ethernet.
Not sure what to try next? Will it be necessary to change ownership & permissions and maybe the sharing preferences setups are not enough?"
