first maybe search isn't quite working or something because when I search for .mac I get no results. and secondly I didn't know if I should ask in mac os or apps.

So does anyone know if amazon.com is covered as an authorized reseller for the mailin rebate? If they are then .Mac is like $48.

Is it still that bad of a deal with tiger and the .mac sdk coming out?
fluid like water.

I'm fairly certain that the rebate can be applied. What I want to know is how will this work for renewals. Can I buy it now and sit on it till my .Mac is up for renewal in Sept? Or can/should I renew now as soon as I buy the retail box (assuming I do).

In theory, using the Amazon price plus the rebate this is about half-off the normal cost of .Mac.

you can sit on it as long as you like. It's just the code you are buying, and as long as it has never been used before, it will work anytime.

Excellent. That's what I was hoping (and the .Mac account FAQ confirmed what you said Fusion -- I should have just gone and looked for it).

Just ordered my .Mac from Amazon. $77.99 with free shipping (make sure you buy from Amazon direct and not J&R through Amazon, which is $79.88 and no free shipping) - $30 rebate= $47.99 for another year of .Mac.
