Does anybody know if it is *necessary* to deauthorize iTunes prior to doing a clean install of Tiger? I suspect that it is, but I honestly don't know how Apple keeps track of authorizations. If doing a clean install will count as a new authorization, then the word should get out!

On the other hand...

Because Apple allows 5 computers to be authorized, most users probably wouldn't notice that they've lost an authorization anyway.

I think authorization works based on MAC address. You'll have to reauthorize after installation, but it won't take up another slot in Apple's db.
