Ok, I goofed...I have been slowly ripping my CD collection, and just finished a session where I ripped about 45 CDs. I discovered after I was done that I had the sort order set to Song Name instead of song number. Now all the CDs I ripped are not in the same order as the original album. Changing the sort to number obviously doesn't help.
So is there any automated way of getting the songs sorted the same way as the original CD, or do I have to go through each one and manually sort them?
TIA!

Huh? iTunes sorts based on the tags for the song files, not based on how they were arranged when you ripped them from the CD. Do the song files in question all have the "Track #" field filled with the correct information? If so, then you should be able to sort by Track # by clicking on the field header. Or, alternatively, click on the "Artist" or "Album" headers to sort by those categories, and the individual songs will be sorted by track number within the album groupings.

Hmm, only looked at one CD, let me check others. The one CD I checked, when I sorted by track number, did not match up with the song list on the original...weird.

not sure how you can do it automatically, but if you are in the mood for some work then get info a track and type in the track number of the song in that album.

if you do that for all the tracks they will be in order
