The only program that's given me problems in moving my data over is iCal. I bought a new PB, and rather than using the assistant to move all my programs, I did a fresh install of all software. For programs like iCal, I *thought* i could just drag over all my i Cal .plist files (alarm, scheduler, etc), my iCal folder in Appication support folder in my LIbrary, and the Cache.
But all i get are my themes, no calendars. And the date on my icon is all skewed (a font/suitcase problem?)
Wondering if anyone can help me find the missing file I need to transfer, or what I did wrong.
Thanks.

~/Library/Calendars, I think.

Did you ever use Backup and/or iSync? You could use either or both to reinstall the data that way.

no, isync didn't work on my old pb. i basically had been copying files (all the .plist and app support files) to an external HD.
I still have my PB with the working iCal and data on it.
Is there a step I can take to get it into my new PB?
Thanks!

There should be an option in iCal on your PowerBook for Exporting, under File.
do that for each cal, and then drag them onto the iCal and you're done.
I love iCal. That said if you'd just transfered your whole library it should have worked.

Thanks for the replies. While I never figured out exactly what went wrong, I ended up just copying my calendars (and not the libraries) to an external usb stick, and then i dragged the files from there right onto iCal, and boom--the calendars showed up, all data intact!
I wish other programs were as slick as iCal when it came to moving data around. Thanks for the help, all.
