I have a problem. I need to rip about.... 400 CDs. Now iTunes has the best setup, you can set it to automatically import a whole CD and eject it, when you insert a music CD. And of course it looks up all the names and stuff on CDDB. That would be perfect except it only does one CD at a time. Even if you have 2 or more CD ROM drives, and put 2 CDs in at the same time, it will do one first, then the other. Now my Mac is a Dual 1.8 G5, so it easily has the power to do 2, or mayne even 4 or more CDs at once, using 52X cd rom drives. So this has me kind of stuck. Anothing thing, even if I found an MP3 Encoder that can do Multiple CDs at once, theres still the issue of, sometimes I may want to use AAC instead of MP3. Ideally what I really need is some way to make iTunes do multiple CDs at once.
Interestingly, in a slightly older version of iTunes, if you put two CD's in at once (and didn't set itunes to auto-import), you could manually drag each cd to the library, and it would import them both together. So the app is capable, it just don't wanna. iTunes also has other niceties that other encoders probably won't have, like duplication checking, and a cataloging interface thats as nice. But I'm open to any ideas, if you've got any, let me know.
