Well I tried to download bittornado (similar to bittorrent) but after I downloaded, I could not open it. It was a .exe file. It said that:

Requires Python 2.0+,
wxPython for the GUI client

Did anyone else have trouble installing bittorrent or bittornado? Sorry, I'm very new to macs (just got it Thursday night) so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anything that ends with .exe will not run on Mac OS X. Those are Windows executables.

As for BT, I use the official client. Tomato Torrent is also a popular Mac client.

Download the Mac version instead of the Windows version.. problem solved. The file will probably end in .dmg or .sit

Bittornado is PC only...

Though they have the source there, and they hint that it could be compiled on OS X

Dunno if it is possible though, and, compiling is obviously beyond you since you don't know what and .exe is...

There are plenty of good Mac programs, like Java-based Azureus and the Cocoa native Bits-on-Wheels.
