Hey all,

I've been poring through the FCP Bible for about a week now and just sat down with my DV camera and my G5 tonight for the first time.

I logged a bit of footage and imported it. Huzzah. When I drop it on to the timeline however, I find that there's space on top and on bottom. Huh?

I played with the sequence and capture preset editors but to no avail.

Ultimately the footage is going on-air on a public access show.

Anyone know where my newbie goof is? Also my aspect ratio should be 4:3, right? FinalCut seemed to default to 2:3...

Any help getting started would be appreciated. This is a big step away from iMovie!
