Try encoding some yourself. It's as good as XviD. I did a test from the matrix.

...just realize that Apple did NOT mention anything about H.264's encoding speed. This encoder hilariously slow.

well, it depends on how fast your computer is. encoding video of any kind is very processor-intensive, depending on what kind of quality you want.
