I have my feet in both platforms - a Dell desktop and a PowerBook G4. I MUCH PREFER using my G4, and since it can do anything my Winblows machine can do, why not? The only problem I have is, my company's employee site requires IE6. Whenever I try loading it using my Mac w/Firefox, I just get the following message:
Compass is designed for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and above.
Please click here to download the latest version from Microsoft.
For assistance with installing Internet Explorer, please visit Microsoft's Internet Explorer Support Center.
Is there ANY way I can view it on my Mac, or am I doomed to (ugh) rely on Micros--t?

ist there a OSX version of IE...? Yeah that really sucks. Whats really poor is that chances are Safari or Firefox may actually be able to handle it, but the site browser tests to see if you have IE, and just assumes that IE is the ONLY way. Poor design on their part if you ask me, but i guess just saying that wont do much good.
but i do distictly rmemeber going "ugh" at the sight of an IE icon on my mac when I got it.. deleted it immediately. So you could probably dl it somewhere, google search? made4mac section on Apple.com?

if you activet the hidden men in Safari using Cocktail you should be able to fool the website into thinking you are using explorer.

Must I acquire and install "Cocktail" in order to activate this "hidden menu" ?¿? Will this also hold in Tiger?
Is there no way to do this in Terminal?

And by that he means do this:
1. Make sure Safari is NOT open.
2. Open Terminal.
3. Copy and paste what he wrote into Terminal and hit return.
Then open up Safari and you should see the debug menu. At the botton of the debug menu you can change the User Agent-the name of your browser that website will see.
And the other guy was right, blocking a web browser simply because it isn't Internet Explorer for Windows 6.0 is L-A-M-E.

As fun as that would be, biting the hand that feeds you is almost NEVER recommended!
