I have been waiting a loooooong time to be able to sync a verizon phone via Bluetooth. So, can anyone confirm whether or not it's finally possible with Tiger?

(please don't give me the Verizon cripples BT, OBEX, push, yah yah)

Thanks!!!

For that specific a question, you'll probably have to take your phone into an Apple Store and pair it with one of the Macs running Tiger. That's what I did with my Nokia 6230, in the vain hope that it would work under iSync 2.0.

No joy.

Note: You don't follow through with iSync, natch. You just want to see whether it shows up as a device. iSync politely told me that my model was not compatible. Frankly, there are some phones that work with usb cables not the internal bluetooth. There's a doc on Apple's KB that specifically states that and it's probably a veiled reference to Verizon.

i had this problem... its not apple's fault. verizon purposely turned off many bt features on its phone... there are stories all over the internet about it. google verizon bluetooth and a few will probably pop up. its very odd why vz did this. many think its so they can charge for the feature, but they don't even offer oher ways to do some of the cool bt things. it totally sux

Can I tell you . . . this just irks me! Unfortunately, I HAVE to keep Verizon b/c they have the best coverage where I am located. However, I really want to be able to sync my calendar with bluetooth. I have been seaching the net for over a year to try to find a solution. Well, here's the closest thing I've found so far.

Has anyone here tried it yet???

onsync works, not as easy and as well as isync, but syncs over BT for phone book. I still use the cable, BUT I have set up my phone to dial out and it is decently fast and only uses minutes and does it wirelessly through BT. If we are talking about a v710 go to v710.org for the latest news on this stuff.

Bah, I tried that a while back. Doesn't seem to do my calendar, and as you say "not as easy" as iSync. I update my calendar at least once a day, and I'd love to have my phone set up to do an automatic sync a couple times per day.

This is really amazing that we haven't found a way around this. It would be such a huge advance for me to have this feature with Verizon! I mean, I regularly take my AlBook with me everywhere I go (I do mean everywhere) simply because I need access to my calendar in case someone calls me with work.

I gotta believe that a solution is on the way...

I mean, I would DEFINITELY pay someone to flash my phone for me. Anyone have ANY info???
