Advancing Slides in iPhoto with a mouse click???

I'm trying to set up a slide show where the user can click a mouse to advance through the slides. Some slides will be displayed for 4 seconds, some for 4 minutes. I just want the user to control the advancement of the slides. I know I can do this by setting the slide time to 3600 and showing the controls, but this covers up part of the picture. Is there a way to do this without putting any controls on the screen?
