Topic basically says it all. I have a 1GHz PB, but when I try to start an audio chat with two of my friends it says my computer doesn't have the capability to host. What's going on?

If you're using AIM and not jabber, it should work. It used to work quite well on my old 667TiPB. I'm not sure what your problem is.

Yep, I'm using AIM. How did it work on your 667Ti? The minimum requirement to host a multi-party audio chat is a 1GHz G4. Also, if it helps any my cable connection has a max of 6Mb down and 512Kb up.

Pretty sure it DOESN'T say that. Read again. I think parsec_kadets was referring to multi-person audio chat, and his mac should have enough horsepower for that. You quoted requirements for multiple video chats...

No, you're wrong. Check out http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/ichat/ at the bottom of the page.

Under To Initiate (Host)/10-Person Audio Conference it clearly states "1GHz G4, dual 800 MHz G4 or any G5" & "128Kbps Internet connection (up/down)".
To Participate: "Any G3, G4 or G5 processor" & "56Kbps Internet connection (up/down)"

I believe you were referring to the requirements to host a video chat. I'm referring to audio only.

Sorry, I misread your post. I have no idea. Send a mail to Apple, asking about this.
