If the PC is a Pentium 4 2.0 GH, how fast can I expect the desktop client to run on my mac? (airport & airport extreme networks).

It is not how fast the machine is really, it is how fast your network is. I've been extremely happy with using RDC in the past over Airport and Airport Extreme networks...VERY usable.

Strangely, running Microsoft's own RDC from within Virtual PC is much faster video-wise than the Macintosh RDC.
