It shouldn't store cookies.

I just tested it. Cookies are removed when private surfing is turned off again. So for me it behaves correctly.

This is odd, it only removes some cookies for me (only some that were created during private browsing that is). Did you open new windows and tabs while browsing in "private" mode?

You know, it sends an email to your mom every time you enable private browsing.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Wow, that's a real crackup mithras. Good job!

Can anyone try this out, opening multiple tabs and windows? I can't be the only one having this issue.
Thanks much.

It seems like the MacNN cookies stay when created while private surfing. Other cookies (heise.de, spiegel.de and cnn.com tested) are correctly removed after private surfing is turned off.

Been playing around more with Firefox's cookie manager and do wish that Safari offered similar functionality.

Specifically, the ability to choose on the fly what cookies are saved, saved for session, and denied is a nice feature since you can save cookies for sites you trust (forums.macnn.com), allow cookies for sites that need it for the session (banking sites, google, etc.), and deny the rest (ad sites).

Any recommendations on best practices in Safari?
