I thought Dashboard would have the ability to float designated widgets above all applications, but I only seem to be able to get it to work by a hotkey or mouse movement. Say for example, I like the calendar and clock. I have enough monitor space to put these widgets perpetually in one corner or another while working on a photoshop document or word processing.

Or, say, I want to controll itunes while in an application, the floating window controller would be perfect, but to have to hit F12, then mouse over to the itunes controller seems illogical and unhelpful. I might as well click on itunes itself.

Am I doing something wrong and doesn't Konfabulator do what I just described?

I'm confused and at this point a bit disappointed.

there is a program called amnesty , just released in beta yesterday, that will do what you want.

iTunes->Preferences->Advanced->Keep Mini Player on top of all other windows.

That is exactly my point. Why bother with the widget when you can use itunes more directly? I don't see the advantage to Dashboard or I'm too dumb to figure out how to work it properly.

iTunes has a mini-player with which it can be controlled. The mini-player is floating if you wish. You can control iTunes with its Dock menu. And you can use Exposé to switch to the full iTunes window. Or just click the icon in the Dock, control iTunes, then click the close button of the window and be back to application you've been before.

As far as I'm concerned there is no point in having an "iTunes Remote" Dashboard widget.
