Having trouble trying to do the following. Wondering if I'm just expecting too much from Automator.

In iPhoto 5:

- take the selected photo
- export it to the Finder resizing it down to 600 x480
- open my website
- go to the admin page and select the option to add a photo
- enter all the information in the form
- push the submit button
- end

I have my own website as does my girlfriend. They both use the same functionality and I would like to greatly simplify the process of adding photos to the site for her.

Thanks,

Jordan

No.

That's far too specialised for automator (especially the button clicking)

I'd go for applescript & JS.

You don't mention what's driving your site, but if its Gallery or Coppermine, there are iPhoto plug-ins for automatic uploading.

Unfortunately, I have hand coded it myself in PHP. Couldn't quite get what I wanted from those other products. They were all too big and bloated.

The site is mainly for artists to submit their work. It's incredibly easy to use (as artists aren't always the most computer savvy). It will determine if the picture is landscape or portrait, create the appropriate thumbnail and index the whole lot.

As I said, it's very simple but easy to use.

Now if there were a user accessible iPhoto plug in for PHP that would be really interesting!

Might have to try something with AppleScript....

Ta for the responses....
