im new to macs so please forgive me if this might be an option already in mac os x but i havent found it.
i've seen some screenshots of mac desktops where the label underneath a file icon has extra details like file size and other info.. and the hard drive icon has stuff like total hd size and free hd size right in the label. oddly enough, i tried finding a pic but forgot where i last saw one and couldnt find one in a search
anyone know what im talking about? if so, what app/util lets you do this?
ah, i see what happened.
i had show item info enabled in finder windows but not for the desktop
i thought it would have affected settings everywhere instead of just in a finder window
oh well, figured it out, thanks!
on a related note, i see that it doesnt put the file size in the label if its a file instead of a folder. and there isnt a tool tip that pops up when you hover over either (like in windows). is there some kind of hack/app/util to do these things?
