My Tiger archive/install went flawlessly, except that iChat give me the following error when I press the spacebar when composing a line of text to send:

NSInternalInconsistencyException:
Invalid parameter not satisfying: (index >= 0) && (index < (_itemArray ? CFArrayGetCount((CFArrayRef)_itemArray) : 0))

This is what Console reports:

2005-05-06 05:34:11.659 iChat[3208] *** Assertion failure in -[NSMenu itemAtIndex:], Menus.subproj/NSMenu.m:713

I have deleted all the iChar pref files, made sure all my fonts are enabled, and turned off all the login and startup items.

No good.
Repaired permissions with Cocktail TE (Tiger edition) no good.

Safe boot no good.

But, iChat will run when I switch to my test user, which is plain vanilla.

Short of dumping ALL my prefs, and having to reinstall lots of my apps, does nayone have any suggestions for how to get iChat going?
