I am trying out Path Finder 3.2.2 to find out about the progress the app has made since I last used it years ago, but I am perplexed by the double click folder opening behavior I am seeing. I changed over to Aqua mode and when I try to double click a folder it always opens under the current window. I simply don't get - what am I missing here? This can't be the preferred behavior. Ideas?

So do you want a new window to open? Try the prefs under Browser and check "Open Folder in a New Window".

I thought I had fixed the issue by deleting the plist, but I was wrong. When I am in the icon view new windows open under old ones instead of on top of them. Not very impressed.
